Log No 309. Fri 9th May 2014 - Littlehampton to Lancing, 13 miles (4734 miles walked)

Looking back to Littlehampton
I had got a blister yesterday but it didn't bother me much today.

It's not often it happens but the tent was completely dry when I took it down this morning, even when the weather has been dry there has usually been some condensation on the inside of the flysheet.
With no rush today it was a late start at 09.00, it was dry but very overcast and still with a strong southwesterly.

The beach at Worthing
It was actually quite a boring day, once I had got to the sea front from the campsite the scenery never really changed.

The 10 miles of near straight beach were all stones and groynes.

There was a bit of variation with the path which was either a concrete esplanade or, where the houses were stepped back a bit, a wide grassy strip.

I probably saw as many dogs as people today and quite a number apparently didn't like my rucsac.

Worthing Pier
The weather brightened up as the morning progressed but the strong wind made it feel quite cool though it did encourage the wind and kite surfers to take to the water.

I got to Worthing Pier for 12.00 and after having my lunch took a wander down the high street and stopped in a cafe for a drink and to put some charge into my phone battery. I've not been able to charge the batteries up at the last few campsites and I'm onto the third of four batteries.

I needed food supplies and so far I hadn't seen a Co-op or the like. I carried on walking on the main road into Lancing without finding a store but I was told there was an Asda near the railway station, so after a small detour I was able to get stocked up.

The campsite was less than a mile away so I didn't have to carry the extra weight very far.

An easy 13 miles today and I collected a couple of donations along the way.
