Log No 350. Thu 19th Jun 2014 - Sea Palling to Mundesley, 11 miles (5360 miles walked)
It was to be another short day today and I didn't start until 09.40.Nothing disturbed my sleep last night and I woke with the sun shining, it stayed sunny long enough to dry up the condensation on the flysheet then after a brief shower it was back to grey skies.
The beach at Cart Gap |
The land is low lying with a narrow high bank of dunes protected by a sea wall and access to the beach is generally through a gap in the wall with flood gates. There are a lot of wooden shacks/house and the odd bungalow nestled below the dune bank.
The coastline to Happisburgh |
There was a variety of different crops in the fields, one field was just being harvested and I picked up some fresh greens to supplement tonight's meal.
The seafront at Walcott |
A quiet road! |
I turned off the main road at Bacton and took a small minor road to Paston which avoided having to walk by the Gas Distribution complex.
Stow Mill |
Mundesley seafront |
There were 2 shops, a Spar that I was next to and a Tesco Express a 10 to 15 minute walk away, or so I was told.
I went into the Spar shop but everything seemed to be marked up by an extra 50% so I left it empty handed and walked on to the Tesco (in 7 minutes) and saved myself a couple of pounds.
Tonight's menu |
An 11 mile stroll.
