Gairloch to Toscaig (15)
1364 out of 5630 miles completed

Log No 85. Thu 18th Jul 2013 - Shieldaig to Fearnmore, 14 miles (1364 miles walked)

Looking across to Shieldaig
While I was having a drink of tea, courtesy of Sharon, Pete said he could see an otter in the loch below us. Once he told me where to look I finally saw my first wild otter, mind you, I was a long way from it still.

More road walking today to get round the other sides of Loch Shieldaig and Loch Torridon but unlike yesterday there were a lot of steep climbs and descents.

Ardheslaig and Loch Beag
It was a cloudy start but the forecast was for it to be dry.

My watch still wasn't able to display the time so it was a case of stopping for a break after I had covered a certain distance.

Looking across to Lower Diabaig and Beinn Alligin
There was no rush today which was just as well with it being a late start.

The cloud was beginning to lift but it still hadn't cleared Beinn Alligin, it's a pity that I haven't seen any of the Torridon mountains.

The view from the tent
When I reached Fearnmore I left the road to head for the shore and look for a tent pitch.

I found a nice grassy area with good views across to Raasay and Skye.

14 miles today.
