Log No 206. Sat 14th Dec 2013 - Pwllheli to Porthmadog, 17 miles (3179 miles walked)
The coastline from Pwllheli |
Coconut |
The bit of blue in the sky had gone now and the wind was picking up.
Looking north from Pen-ychain |
After 2 miles on the cycleway/pavement the road crossed the Afon Dwyfor and the Coastal Way signs led me by the farm of Aberkin and across a couple of fields to the north side of the river.
The coastline to Criccieth |
Clouds had really built up now and it was now threatening rain.
Looking back to Criccieth Castle |
The 'road' on Black Rock Sands |
It was nothing of the kind, merely people driving onto the beach like it was a regular road, it even had speed restriction signs.
The coastline to Borth-y-Gest |
With the Afon Glaslyn flowing into the estuary a very pleasant path went through the wooded slopes giving super views of all the small bays round to Borth-y-Gest.
The rain had come on now and the wind strengthened but I was just about finished with only 15 minutes into Porthmadog.
With the rain starting to lash down I didn't wander round the place and as the 14.30 bus to Pwllheli was just ready to leave I jumped on it.
Another enjoyable 17 miles.
