*Good to see you when you were home even though a short talk. I checked my Butterfly Book and the picture in it looks the same as you picture.*
The fabric used on the terra nova laser and ultralights is silicon based which is why they cannot tape the seams- nothing sticks to it! fingers crossed your sealant helps and that the weather doeant put it to the test! (by Andrew)
Also, there is a tidy and cheap campsite north of benderloch that Richard and I stayed at. They give the camp fee to charity to stop dog abuse I think. Kiel crofts?
Actually you will march past that before you have had your second sandwich break.! Try gallanachmore farm 4k after oban.

Log No 113. Tue 27th Aug 2013 - Kentallen to Barcaldine, 20 miles (1761 miles walked)

Well it was back to the weather I had before my break. It rained off and on through the night and while I was having breakfast but I had no leaks in the the tent, when I was home I had sealed the seams with a tube of cheap sealant and, to be honest, didn't think it would work. I'll reserve judgement until a really wet & windy night.

The rain had stopped long enough to get the tent packed up but it wasn't long in starting again though it was very light and there was little wind.

I've also noticed a change in the light since I was last walking, I'll soon be cooking porridge in the dark if I'm to be away by 08.00.

Castle Stalker
It was nearly all road walking again today but quite a lot of it was cycleway, with some sections having only been opened earlier this year.

I was taking it easy, having a break every hour or thereabouts, my second break was at Portnacroish looking over to Castle Stalker and I was just ready to tuck into a sandwich when another hiker came along.

This was Bernhard from Dusseldorf, for the last thirteen years he has had a fortnight walking round the coast, 2 days travelling either side of 10 days walking and staying in B&B's or hotels. He was telling me that one hotel in Appin wanted £247 for a night (he never stayed there).

Jubilee Bridge
Trying to sticking to the coast I had a big detour round Appin and started by crossing Loch Laich via the Jubilee Bridge.

Is this safe?
A sign said it was originally constructed in Queen Victoria's time and had been rebuilt several times since. I would say it can't be long before it needs rebuilding again, I had to straddle the width of the bridge as I didn't trust that the planks would support me.

For all that this detour was close to the shore I never got much of a view of Loch Creran.

Loch Creran
Though I did see a ferry of sorts through the mist.

The weather eventually cleared after lunch and the sun came out as I was passing Creagan Inn.

I have done very well, that's 2 days in a row I have resisted the temptation to stop at a cafe or the like for some refreshments.

Loch Creran & the Bridge at Creagan
From the bridge over Loch Creran at Creagan it was only a couple of miles to the campsite at Barcaldine and I arrived there at 15.15 with plenty of time to relax.

The 20 miles weren't too painful in the end.
