WOW! Dad would have been in his element if he'd seen this! If you find any bottles of whisky washed up on the shore make sure you take one home! (by Sandra)

Carradale to Strachur (24)
2048 out of 5630 miles completed

Log No 133. Wed 18th Sep 2013 - Furnace to Cairndow, 18 miles (2048 miles walked)

The track from Furnace
It was a pleasant start to the walk, leaving Furnace I went by the quarry and followed the track through the forest alongside Loch Fyne.

The track ended at the caravan park at Dalchenna then there was a short section of footpath to the road.

The Vital Spark
I saw an old footpath sign to Inverary on the other side of the road, this took me as far as the golf course leaving just a mile of road walking and I got to Inverary after 2.5 hours.

The forecast had been for sunny intervals with a couple of showers but it was rain with a couple of sunny intervals.

There were just 2 boats tied up at the pier in Inverary, one of them was called the Vital Spark, now why does that name sound familiar?

Inverary is an attractive village, or it will be when all the scaffolding and blue safety netting is removed from the building in the centre.

Bridge at Inverary
It was road walking again now and the main road was busier than normal with all the extra traffic diverted from the A82.

Inverary Castle
The road stayed alongside the loch and after rounding the head of Loch Fyne it was only a short walk to where I had left the campervan.

With no hills it had been an easy, but not pain free, 18 miles in 5.5 hours.
