Log No 134. Thu 19th Sep 2013 - Cairndow to Strachur, 10 miles (2058 miles walked)

Kilmorich Church, Cairndow
Guess what the weather is doing? Raining. Thank goodness I went home for the campervan.

It's good to have the comfort but I certainly need to be a lot more organised than I used to be.

No more of "I think I'll just stop here" when I'm feeling tired or had enough. I have to have a definite finishing point, either a bus stop for a certain time or where I have left the van.

Today I drove to the start so I'll finish at a bus stop.

Walking through Cairndow I passed Kilmorich Church, a church with history according to the notice board.

At Ardkinglas Estate there was a notice board boasting "Britains Tallest Tree" and as I was going to be walking through the estate I thought I may as well take a look.

Ardkinglas Woodland Garden
Tall Trees
When I realised it was going to cost me £4.50 I didn't bother, my budget is small enough as it is.

There were certainly plenty of tall trees but I never saw one with the "I'm the biggest" sign.

I thought the forecast for today was to be sunny intervals and showers but it's all rain, and quite heavy at times but coming straight down as there's no wind.

Oyster Farm on Loch Fyne
Because of the way the bus routes are it was only to be a short walk and the first half was on track and footpath alongside the shore of Loch Fyne.

I went by an Oyster Farm, unlike the one I saw at Tongue on the north coast, this one looks how I imagined it would.

Footpath along Loch Fyne
After an hour and a half of leisurely walking I was back on the main road.

My bus was at 12.55 in Strachur and I got there with 45 minutes to spare.

I would rather get a bus to the start and walk to the van, there is no wasted time that way, it all depends on the bus times as to which way I have to do it.

Only 10 miles, all in the rain, but tomorrow will be a long walk.
