Mick looking back to Burnham-on-Sea
It was only 9 miles along the road from Burnham-on-Sea to Bridgwater but our route was along the River Parrett and ended up being 14 miles.

The forecast was for a windy morning with showers and this proved to be the case as we left at 08.00. Between the showers we had blue skies and sunshine.

We crossed over the River Brue at Highbridge and walked on the footpath along the south side of it to get to where the River Parrett flowed into Bridgwater Bay.

Dave looking across to Combwich
We followed the River Parrett as it meandered its way to Bridgwate and like the previous days there was an embankment to walk on.

Across from Combwich we cut off a loop in the river by taking a road towards Gaunt Farm and re-joined it there.

Coming into Dunball a Dutch firm was busy pumping water out from one of the many drains in the area into the River Parrett, presumably to help get the water out of the flooded Somerset Levels.

From Dunball we walked along the long straight of the A38 into Bridgwater, getting there for 12.45.

The public transport for the next few days looked problematic, especially with tomorrow being Sunday, so we called into the Tourist Information to see if they could help.

We didn't get anything sorted and we don't really want to have to take tomorrow off, particularly as it is probably going to be the best weather for the week, so we still have a bit of thinking to do.
