Mick along Loch Moidart
The showers continued through the night but by the time we were ready to go it was just solid rain with a strong wind.

Staying on the road we went through Glenuig and along Loch Moidart passing an information board commemorating The Seven Men of Moidart, companions of Bonnie Prince Charlie during the 1745 Rebellion.

Shiel Bridge near Acharacle
With no let up in the rain we pressed on, taking a short break every hour, getting to Acharacle for 12.15.

We took the B8044 here heading for Kentra but turned off on the minor road going to Arevegaig.

The rain had eventually cleared but the strong wind kept it cold enough to keep our waterproofs on.

Kentra Bay
The road ended at a car park on Kentra Bay and we were now heading for the Ardnamurchan Peninsula.

There was a track along the end of the bay and through a forest, with the shelter it was warm enough for t-shirt & shorts.

The track also led to a beach at Camas an Lighe where the sand is supposed to sing, we met a couple on the track who had been coming to this beach for 20 years but they had never heard it sing.

Mick on the footpath to Ockle
At the end of the forest the track continued to Ockle, 4 miles away, through the hills and as we were going to lose the shelter of the trees we put our waterproofs back on.

We had no sooner done this then a really heavy shower suddenly started, we waited under the trees until the shower stopped.

The track rose steadily up the hill and as we were planning on stopping before getting to Ockle we were on the lookout for a good pitch.

Camping by the path
We found a suitable site after half an hour, it was only 16.00 but it would be good to be able to relax for a while.

We timed it right and the tents were put up in the dry, there was a shower soon after.
