Had coffee with Sue this morning and she says watch out for the "mist rolling in from the sea"! (by Sandra)

Coasting Round Britain

30th March 2013 to 12th July 2014
Kilberry to Carradale (23)
1957 out of 5630 miles completed

Log No 126. Mon 9th Sep 2013 - Southend to Campbeltown, 15 miles (1957 miles walked)

Looking back to Southend
No waterproofs on this morning as I left the campsite taking a track through the golf course and then a field full of cattle to get to the farm at Brunerican.

After that it was roads for the rest of the day.

Looking across to Arran
The first 5 miles were uphill, the only exceptions being when there was a descent to get over a stream.

The roads either side of the stream were also generally very steep.

The coastline from Balnabraid Glen
The road was mostly a fair distance from the shore and there was hardly any traffic on it.

Looking to Campbeltown
I eventually got back down to the shore at Kildalloig and the road stayed along the coast for the remaining 3 miles into Campbeltown.

Just across from Island Davaar (at low water you can walk across to this island) I met another hiker coming towards me, Andy, he was doing the same walk as me today but in the opposite direction.

Andy was also walking the British coastline but in sections over a few years and he was using B&Bs.

Campbeltown
I arrived in Campbeltown at 13.40, it had been an easy 15 miles in 5.5 hours.

There was no campsite here so I was catching the 15.45 bus to Carradale to camp there, that would also give me a pack free day tomorrow.

I had intended passing the time in the library doing the log but it was closed on Mondays.
