Log No 121. Wed 4th Sep 2013 - Port Ban, nr Kilberry to Tarbert, 16 miles (1883 miles walked)
Looking to the Mull of Kintyre |
The road by West Loch Tarbert |
The road was mainly through trees and was very quiet but with the sunshine it was actually very pleasant walking.
I did meet a real live walker, he was staying in Tarbert and was going to Kilberry to look at some recumbent stones then getting the bus back. I don't know what time his bus was, there is only one a day, but I met him at 12.00 and it had taken me 4 hours from Kilberry.
Coming round the head of the loch I should have turned right on the main road but went left into Tarbert.
There was no convenient campsite today so I was going to some shopping then get a bus on to what would be Thursdays campsite, I also wanted to pick up bus timetables to see how feasible it would be to have a base camp.
It was just a short day of 16 miles but I am now on the Mull of Kintyre.
Tarbert |
Still a lot of that grey stuff you're walking on!! I,ve been looking ahead - will hopefully meet again on the Fife coastal path for half-term week (looking into cottages on/near coast) (by Mick)
